Yes. But it’s very easy and pretty quick.

Before anyone can file bankruptcy, a specific type of bankruptcy certificate showing you completed bankruptcy credit counseling is required. You can obtain credit counseling from many different websites and even by phone. The course is not a test, meaning you really cannot fail. i It usually takes 1 to 2 hours, and can be broken up over several times or days. This means you can start today, do 30 minutes, and pick up where you left off another day. You cannot file bankruptcy without it. Out office has websites we recommend due to their ease of use. After you file bankruptcy, there is another course required to receive a discharge, called debtor education, and sometimes also called financial management.
