Bankruptcy is nothing new. It is in fact been in existence in the US since the constitution was written. In fact, bankruptcy itself is actually in the constitution. That is the year 1788. The United States Constitution (Article 1, Section 8, Clause 4) authorizes Congress to enact "uniform Laws on the subject of Bankruptcies throughout the United States".
