Bankruptcy filings are down in the United States. See the May 2016 AACER bankruptcy data reported by Epiq System for more information. The least amount of bankruptcies were filed in May 2016 compared to any other May since at least May 2010. In addition, filings have been declining every May since at least 2010. In May 2016, around 66,000 bankruptcies were filed, compared to in May 2010, where around 133,000 bankruptcies were filed.
