Bay Area Regional Medical Center to close and file bankruptcy

Bay Area Regional Medical Center announced that they will close and will file bankruptcy. There are many doctors, nurses, technicians, staff, and other employees that are allegedly still owed payment. The bankruptcy could be filed under chapter 7 of the Bankruptcy Code or under chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code. It could be filed in the Southern District of Texas based on where the hospital is located. The hospital opened their building in the Clear Lake / Webster area in July 21, 2014. It is estimated that there is over 900 people laid off by the closure of Bay Area Regional. It is estimated to be the second-largest hospital in the Clear Lake / Webster area. It is located eight off of Highway 3, Old Galveston Road, past Bay Area Boulevard.
